Cultural connections.

At first glance, we're known American pop culture, but if we try to deepen this culture, we are surprised by things that are not very visible.
For starters, on Comedy Central, in a number of stand-up comedy hear about "soul food".
Curious as I am, looking on Wikipedia and found the explanation: "Soul food cuisine consists of a selection of foods traditional in the cuisine of African Americans. It is closely related to the cuisine of the Southern United States. The descriptive terminology may have originated in the mid-1960s, when soul was a common definer used to describe African-American culture (for example, soul music)".
Already I see otherwise the movie "The Blues Brothers", where in one scene, searching for orchestra members, the brothers get in a restaurant called "Soul Food."
Unsurprisingly, the restaurant was the property of a family of color people, Areta Franklin plays the wife, soul food and soul music.

There are aspects of American popular culture that much harder to defend in contemporary films. An example of "pegging", but will let you discover for yourself what's going on here.
